The fact that you are too fukking stupid to understand the difference between what happened to the S&Ls and how that differs from the bailouts that are occuring today is not from lack of having it explained to you .....the fact is you are too fukking dense to get it.....its a common problem with leftwing nutcases like yourself....your IQ approaches that of a warm grapefruit.

S&Ls were placed into receiverships (liquidated), conservatorships (a complete takeover by the giov followed by sales of assets) or were forced into mergers with healthy institutions (ofetn with the gov. retaining the bad assets).

Bailouts as we see them today are infusions of capital into unhealthy players like AIG, BOA, Citi, et al. No liquidation, no receiverships and no govt' shotgun mergers.....

There....I tried to use smaller words this time so you could follow along, numnutz.
