I don't doubt there was a certain amount of taking advantage of circumstances on Goldman's part.

But then again, which would GS shareholders prefer:

A) It looks better because of the new fiscal year, or
B) It would have looked better if we had retained the old fiscal year?

Or put another way:

A) March was better than December, or
B) March was worse than December?
