When you're mindset produces the idea that Hamas exists because of something the US or Israel has done or is doing "wrong", then it tends to paint you in a corner. It takes years if at all to change a view that is hardened through years of association with like minded "friends".

When you're morals are based upon your political party, you end up with the dangerous position we're in now. HomeLand Security creating an enemies list based upon if you disagree with the any one item the current govt supports? Lot of people in trouble in Arkansas with "Choose Life" license plates issued by the state of Arkansas.

I see Chavez's opposition opponent is missing...

>I remember showing Z a video of Hamas at UC Irvine protesting a talk by Daniel Pipes. The leader of the protest declared that Israel "will be wiped off the map," and that drew praises from his fellow protesters.

>I don't think Z was moved at all.

Yeah, not particularly. For one, I'm an American, not an Israeli. Second of all, plenty of Israelis would love Palestine to be wiped off the map. So what?
