ATLANTA/CAMARILLO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 27, 1997--
View Tech's Expanded Market Includes Entire East Coast
View Tech, Inc. (NASDAQ:VUTK) and its wholly-owned subsidiary, USTeleCenters, Inc., announced today that the Company has signed an agreement with BellSouth Telecommunications to mark network services to BellSouth's local customers. The agreement will expand View Tech's market to include the entire Southeast and will allow the Company to bring its fully integrated voice, video and data services and support to business customers in the nine states serviced by BellSouth.
Under the terms of the agreement, View Tech will become an Authorized Agent of BellSouth and a single source provider for network services, equipment and technical support for business customers. The networking services include point-to-point T1, frame relay and ISDN connections for use in such applications as video conferencing, Internet access, email networks and ATM networks. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Paul C. O'Brien, chairman of the board at View Tech, said, "The BellSouth partnership represents a significant advance in implementing our strategy to build a quality, nationwide enterprise. Since View Tech merged with USTeleCenters, the Company has consistently delivered on its business strategy to expand its client base and product lines through alliances such as this."
"We are pleased to welcome View Tech to the BellSouth family of Authorized Agents," said John Thacker, Director of BellSouth Telecommunications. "Our selection criteria are rigorous, and View Tech is known for admirable performance in the areas of professional sales, timely order issuance, market support and complete customer service satisfaction.
All 16 of View Tech's sales offices now have the ability to market BellSouth's networking services in this nine-state region. This agreement allows View Tech to provide a convenient, simple solution for businesses that have several offices located throughout the country. For example, a Boston business that has a satellite office in Atlanta may work directly with its local View Tech sales representative to set up BellSouth services for its Atlanta office.
"This agreement with BellSouth is another step forward in View Tech's growth strategy to compete in the national marketplace," said Robert G. Hatfield, chief executive officer of View Tech. "We now have the ability to represent Regional Bell Operating Companies throughout the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and the Southeast and to provide businesses in those regions with more effective communications solutions and superior customer service."
This agreement is particularly important for View Tech's Atlanta, Boca Raton and Nashville sales offices as these three offices previously provided only video conferencing equipment, services and support to business located in this region.
