Lots of coal on the Yangtze .. Lots of building.. Talked to younger folks that have eat out mentality... (not market shoppers like our parents they say... no time..) .. LOTS of solar water heating, LOTS of battery powered scooters and bikes, LOTS of cars... great highways.. More modern over my first trip in 2000.. BUT BUT... That was summer 2007.. They are being hit hard too now. So what I saw is old news.. Biggest thing in their favour at the people level.. is that they still have the saver mentality.. and I figure they adapt better to financial hardship.. but that is purely my gut opinion.. Hard to really trust any government ...
