Michael, that's the problem with these programs. This is specifically the issue.

When they began, they were to be self-funding, they were done with the best of intentions, and nobody dreamed they would become what they have.

But when these programs mature, they require massive funding out of general revenue. Without fail. Obama's socialized health care is going to do the same. You cannot get around it. If you could, I'd have a different view. But a program that looks sound today, 30 or 50 years hence, will inevitably wind up sucking up general revenue dollars.

We are now $55T in the hole on Medicare and SS, and Obama, if he has his way, will create another program just as big and just as fiscally incompetent as these two already are.

It virtually insures the death of our democracy.
