Lindy, Sarah Palin was an exponent of ignorance. Her foreign knowledge was from looking out over the ice towards Russia. It's a bit silly to suggest Obama is ignorant while she was supposedly shovel ready.

There is a difference between being an appeaser and being a polite, friendly, agreeable co-operator.

Pakistan, China, Russia, India, France are all armed with nukes. North Korea having them is more likely to be a problem for Russia or China than for the USA. Pakistan having them is more of a problem for India, China, Russia, Afghanistan than for the USA. Iran having them would be worrisome for Iraq, Russia, India, Israel and Saudi Arabia than the USA.

The heat in the cold war came from USSR installing shovel ready nukes in Cuba and the USA blockading the ports and threatening involuntary removal. Krushchev and co saw that it was a losing position and sensibly folded.

North Korea and Iran have been contemptuous of the USA for the last decade and in fact the last decades. When Superman King George II was running the show right up until this year, they were quite happy to tug on the cape. Superman didn't do much.

"Superman" is a misnomer and somewhat of a joke. Superman would have swooped in and got Osama BEFORE he destroyed the Twin Towers of Metropolis. What we had instead was King George II freshly ensconced still figuring out where the coffee machine, toilets and Europe were and Condoleezza saying nobody could have imagined such an attack, when it was quite clear that a cave dweller in Tora Bora could figure it out and I sat behind a cockpit over the USA thinking exactly the same sort of things. They even had official warning, which was ignored. They could have at least sent out an advisory suggesting cockpit doors be shut and locked during flight.

When he left office, "Superman" still hadn't got Osama. Obama might do a better job.

Using the words Osama and Obama, I have to stop and think which is which. It's interesting that the USA chose Hussein Obama as president, whose name so closely matches the two recent arch-nemeses. I guess it's like Microsoft's "embrace, extend and extinguish" rather than a Stockholm Syndrome reaction. en.wikipedia.org

If we leave NK and Iran to do as they please, sometime in the coming decades it could lead to one of them being responsible for a nuclear event here in the US

And when this will happen, today's appeasers will demand that we bomb those presumed offenders with everything we've got, until they become large glass fields.

Many times I heard people demand that terrorists should be brought into the US and tried with all standard legal protections. When I point out that it is not possible for our soldiers - in the battlefield - to collect "proper" evidence and do all that is necessary for the courts to convict those captives - interestingly, they agree with me. The solution they sometimes offer is shocking - "Don't arrest them, kill them". In other words, they prefer extreme brutality to an "appearance" of legal(istic) impropriety.
