There are good people and bad people of all colors.
There are clever people and not so clever people of all colors.

It's a fact, colors or not, the the part of Africa right south of Italy isn't very productive.
Equally it is a fact, that most of south Italy isn't quite as productive as say north of Salerno.

Now, if you want to refute those facts, fine with me.

It may have to do with the weather as I suggested. Being productive at 100F ambient or more ain't so easy.

Well, good for you. Now explain what you meant by the statement that southern italy is "beyond hope" by its mere proximity to Africa.

You idiot the reference was to ancient Carthage, they were not Black but of ancient Phoenician heritage. Although they were of mixed races their leaders or elite's appearance would be similar to a dark skinned Caucasian. They were probably only a bit darker than the Romans at the time.
