william, the bottom line is that pentiums are now commodity items. the pentium being commodity is much different than the 386 or 486 being commodity.

98% of computers are word processor, spreadsheets or internet terminals.

pentiums work fantastic for this. 486s and 386s didn't.

there will be no compelling reason for 98% of the market to upgrade beyond the commodity pentium chip.

intel is about to get a haircut.
