Unfortunately we have fools in Washington like Waxman who cannot wait for 2050 to exert their power.

My point is simple - only a train wreck will achieve major reductions by 2020. Obama is on course for a wreck. He is either uninformed (ie stupid), of evil intent or delusional.

The above points you make are glaringly obvious to anyone who's even remotely aware of the issues involved and is willing to accept reality, as opposed to the Alice-in-Wonderland fantasies of the greenie crowd.

It's a damn shame that energy production has become so thoroughly embroiled in politics, but that's the way it is today. Pols like Waxman and Obama and many media sources are trying to foist off on the public the notion that a square "alternative" energy peg can be pounded into a round hole, almost overnight, by simply passing mandates and laws that "make it so". Perhaps Harry Potter's magic wand would help..

The fact that AlGore type delusions are taken seriously by anyone with half a brain is almost unreal.

As for train wrecks, I think that the world is headed for a nasty one that will be induced by shortages of inexpensive and realistic energy supply, whether or not political interference is in play.

The greenie agenda will not only make the train wreck more severe in nature, but will bring it on sooner than would otherwise occur. The only good to come from this will be the inevitable backlash against the econuts, as the populace suffers the consequences of their stupid policies..
