today's appeasers will demand that we bomb those presumed offenders with everything we've got, until they become large glass fields.

I think about 10% of the country will want to "kumbaya" it. That's the percentage that will always go with "violence never settles anything."

OTOH, about 20/30% of the country, who are on the left, will go along cheerfully with almost any restriction of speech and action applied to the right. Remember, most of the heads of the German concentration camps had PHD's in social science.

The solution they sometimes offer is shocking - "Don't arrest them, kill them". In other words, they prefer extreme brutality to an "appearance" of legal(istic) impropriety.

That reminds me of an event that happened in Portland twenty or thirty years ago. Police officers were severely disciplined because a subject they arrested was injured (killed?? I don't remember) when they put a choke hold on him because he started acting up.

Other officers were upset about this discipline so they had some T-shirts made up that said DON'T CHOKE 'EM, SMOKE 'EM.

Whereupon the officers who had the T-shirts made up were also disciplined.

When I told the Ron Paul supporter my complaint about him and his stance on defense and tried to explain EMPs to her, she rolled her eyes and asked me if I seriously believed that. She was very critical of the U.S of A.
