A chill over Las Vegas: Do you know the average high for Las Vegas this time of year? Well, I'm telling you anyway so you don't have to answer that.

The average high for April 15 is 78 degrees. The high today so far at McCarran International Airport has reached just 51 degrees; 27 degrees below average. This may go down as one of the coldest April days in Las Vegas since records began in 1937.

Here's a look at this today's hourly temps from 6 am to 12 pm PT.

6 am PT: 42 degrees
7 am PT: 40 degrees
8 am PT: 41 degrees
9 am PT: 45 degrees
10 am PT: 51 degrees
11 am PT: 51 degrees
12 pm PT: 50 degrees

It has been so cold in and around Las Vegas that snow has been reported in some communities.

4 miles southwest of Las Vegas, NV: A few snow flurries fell in the Mountains Edge community (near Rhodes Ranch Golf Club) in the southwest part of the Las Vegas valley at an elevation of 2700 feet.

5 miles northwest of Spring Valley, NV: Snow mixed with rain was reported by an off-duty National Weather Service employee in the southwest part of the Las Vegas Valley around 2900 feet in elevation.

Mount Charleston, NV: The Mount Charleston co-op observer reported 5 inches of snow at an elevation of 7600 feet.

We have frost on the grass in San Francisco at the end of March. I Have never seen it before at that time

Was in Monterey for 6 months between Sep, 92 and Apr, 93.. Don't ever remember seeing frost.. but some awesome fog.. ;0)
