From the "unwelcoming" I received a nastygram PM for my post #7. I didn't think my post #7 was other than a matter of fact report of long ago history, a simple rebutting of "gold permabull" status of the unwelcoming with a story from the past. Ostensibly its reply was for a PM I sent some months ago suggesting a truce since we do have some common interests (gold, conservative views). Silly me. I did not get a reply to my PM, for a month or two, but then did receive the nastygram after post #7. A vacation was the excuse, but there was only a gap of two weeks in "uw's" posts, not well over a month. You decide.

Don't ask, as I think I destroyed the PM, so I would not be tempted to post it public. I will not divulge PM's or personal info as some do, that is my own moral code.

I was going to reply to that PM, but decided there was no possibility of a positive outcome.

I am just posting this to explain since the "unwelcoming" is now on ignore, the simplest solution, and so it is unlikely that I will post further on this thread as I will ignore in all ways.

Furthermore, after 12 years on SI, other interests have taken prority. My time is important and my own posting will become ever more rare. I guess that will make the "unwelcoming" glad and a few others sad. I'll just fade away as so many have over the years as I prepare for retirement and a different manner of life, more leisure, no more work, very little market stuff, which is probably the safest bet!

I want to wish the best of luck to everyone, even the unwelcoming.

Best,
Roebear
