churches are afforded very special and advantageous status in society BECAUSE they are considered worth supporting. Tax exemption is pretty automatic for non-profits. Most non-profits likely do less good for society than churches as a group. IMO I've elaborated on this elsewhere listing some practical reasons to think so. , your mincing words ???? You don't want science taught in public schools because you don't want science? Of course, I do want science taught in public schools. I want lies and myths not to be taught in public schools. And I've listed examples of such in a longer post recently. Those lies tend to be clustered in the evolution area unfortunately.
