>It's really easy. I just look at all of the justifications brought up for raising taxes. None of them have anything to do with smoothing out the economic cycle. Instead, it's "Woe is us. We're short on tax revenue because of the recession. We need to raise taxes on whoever can afford them to pay for all of the oh-so-great things we're doing right now." Isn't raising taxes to make sure we have enough money for things like stimulus packages smoothing out the economic cycle? -Z
