Few folks realize that the DOW crashed last year from a level
already twice lower than where it was in 1929 and about 70%
lower than where it was in 2000 in real terms, and now remains
at 82 year lows.

Even a permabear would say there was some real economic growth
since then. The peak of the ratio was 43, and above 20 in
1929. The ratio was around 5 at the end of the 19-th century.
