The Greatest Generation is leaving the stage - what's the word? - inexorably.

The old lady did die late last year. Apparently her husband is hanging in there quite nicely.

I agree that we all must make the best of every day we have. I have close relatives who are doing it both ways, and the difference in quality of life is indescribable. One, 90 years old this year, cuts fire wood, drives a tractor, and tells jokes at Kiwanis. The other falls getting from his power lift chair to his power scooter chair.

The difference, I think, is that one does for himself while the other has always wanted others to do things for him.
