>>Hey, Cogito, that "report" was nine pages of speculation with no basis in fact which managed to impugn all veterans and right-wingers as potential terrorists. There may have been responsible reports at other times on extreme right-wing militias, but this wasn't one of them. <<

Nadine -

Two questions.

Have you read the report?

Were you aware that the part that mentions the recruitment of veterans by extremists refers to a report prepared by DHS under the Bush Administration?

Here, in case you're interested, is a direct quote about the report from the national commander of the VFW. From Politico.com:

" 'The report should have been worded differently, but it made no blanket accusation that every soldier was capable of being a traitor like Benedict Arnold, or every veteran could be a lone wolf, homegrown terrorist like Timothy McVeigh,' said Glen Gardner, the VFW's national commander. 'It was just an assessment about possibilities that could take place.'

"But Gardner still suggested DHS could do more and include in future reports other government agents with paramilitary training who have joined the white extremist and other such movements."
