No, this is the first time a president has done this, though I think a staffer did it once for Clinton.


Uh....wasn't it Bush that had a sign draped behind him saying "Mission Accomplished" when he spoke on an aircraft carrier. Staffers modify the backgrounds of where presidents are going to speak all the time for a whole host of reaons.
