Had AIG not unwound its credit default swaps thus gifting the banks with substantial trading profits quarterly results would have been at best luke warm.
Taxpayers, via AIG, literally created much of their profits.
So, the Toxic Asset Relief Program relieves tax payers of their dollars and after some perfunctory gyrations those dollars find a home at, well yes, Goldman Sachs.
