I;m sorry, but this is very funny. I wrote that believing something is wrong "doesn't justify suspending common sense about what and when you teach you children." And you wrote, "of course it does." Sure, parents are free to teach what they like, and I am free to express my disapproval, especially when a five year old waves a nasty sign in my face as I walk into church and calls me a Babykiller. Actually, I don't think they had the right to enter the church and march down the aisle toward the pastor. I wasn't singing there that day, but was told it was very threatening- and is why they had police in front of him on the day I was there. When you consider the violent actions of some anti-abortion nuts at clinics, I imagine it WAS scary. THe church in question does a great deal more than support prayer and worship. It has an extensive community outreach in downtown Dallas with the homeless and the poor. It provides daycare, meals, shelter, counseling. As I understand it, approval was given because the program that was going to be offered at the church that day dealt with educating teens and teaching birth control- it wasn't some sort of booth on the grounds pushing abortion. You may not like it and utter little sarcastic comments about chickens, but imo, that church had thoughtfully decided that the particular program fit within its outreach goals.
