It could be just my own bias, but it seems to me that the Right universally condemns and rejects its fringe elements, while the Left embraces, tolerates, and defends its fringe.

Timothy McVeigh, if he's in the category people called Right Wing, would have had a line of people like me waiting to pull the lever on his gallows.

For the moment I won't debate that point, though I can think of only a few riots we've had, and many of them couldn't be said to come from either side. I don't think you could say that the Rodney King riots were political, really.

Also, you must Oklahoma bombing was especially horrific. I can't think of any other act of violence in this country that comes close to it.

Even if one accepts your statement, however, one still can't argue with the idea that it would pay to be vigilant. The report didn't make any kind of value judgement about the right or the left. It only pointed out that there was increased activity and motivation on the fringes of the right at this time, which would stand to reason with a liberal administration in office.
