"So then, were you critical of the press at that time like you are now?"

I am always skeptical of the goofballs trying to sell sensational articles. I don't remember commenting on it before. The situations were hardly as similar as you paint them, however. The concern I posted about the current situation is right on the money and for some reason you can't deal with that.

Anyway, there was enormous criticism of Bush and the push to invade Iraq. The allegations, innuendoes, gossip, and mendacious attacks were heated to a boil almost immediately and haven't stopped yet. Once we invaded there were declarations by lefties on SI (reflecting media sound bites) that we would lose, when we destroyed the regime, you extremists kept claiming we were losing the war in Iraq but you didn't have any depth to that argument because it was bogus, the war was over in short order. Then we were assured that insurgency and civil war was the only possible outcome and we couldn't do anything about it. Then the claims of a hundred year war and such. Now Iraq has a government and our military operations have been shown to be successful in Iraq.
