bart, there may have even been a 12 month period where it went down, but they weren't the 12 months of a fiscal year.

anyway, the genesis of greenspan's easy credit bubblenomics is what did it - and it eventually destroyed the world economy and may eventually plunge us into world war III.

in context, what clinton and greenspan did to gain the political advantage of saying "we balanced the budget" was *criminal*.

the public didn't care when they were benefiting from the crime - they treated the chief criminal, greenspan like god almighty.

little did the ignorati know it would eventually blow up in their face - and the banker's didn't care as they won't have to cover the shrapnel, the public will.
