Why are energy costs in France so high that they weren't using air conditioning?

I thought their use of nuclear energy would have made it affordable. Maybe the government is involved lol

"Just imagine Arizona and Texas mid summer and no AC.... How hard do you believe those guys would work?"

Well, based on the available evidence, when my ancestors came to Texas in the early 1800s, their diet probably was about 4500+ calories a day like the others there. They weren't fat, far from it. The fact of the matter is, if you didn't work hard, you died. Even then, working hard was no guarantee you'd live, though. But is was the only chance you had.
