On second thought, I would rather have that arrangement rather than having Christine raise our east-side gasoline tax to raise money for highway infrastructure in Seattle.

Oregon is even worse, where they have thought of a scheme to tax miles instead of gallons because the law of unintended consequences says that high-mileage vehicles don't give the government as many gas tax dollars.

I have seen truck wave-by signs near weigh stations on I-5. That makes sense, rather than having a truck stop multiple times for weighing the same load.
