I think it's one of the "upsides" of not being willing to change, which in some cases is correct. That said, religions are instituions, the Catholic Church is an institutions... at one point probably the largest on the planet... and there made GIANT mistakes and perpetrated many terrible things. Thats one of your more positive statements and an improvement. If you can't own that, then IMHO you have a problem. Not being a Catholic, I don't feel ownership of anything regarding the Catholic church. I would only comment when I feel the negative comments go over the top and get into territory where the complaints are baseless. Certainly the Catholic church has plenty of historical institutional "sins" on its record ... from the handling of pedophiles in the priesthood to the Inquisition. I know to YOU that statement looks bitter, but those are your glasses. Your last statement above sounded less bitter. And its good to hear that. You also seem to forget, I believe in god, to me Darwin's work and the work of scientists all over the world help describe gods work... ie. mother nature. That is sciences JOB! Very good. And again, when they get it wrong, it's YOU that is bitter. Yeah, when they put stuff in textbooks that aren't true and a few of those h/b mentioned on the thread recently, I think thats wrong and s/b stopped.<I don't think it makes you a villain. > I didn't say that... I said you have reported villians in YOUR life, right here on these posts. Hmm, I suppose my mentions of religious hostility expressed by a bio prof and mentions of Darwin'w racism and mentions of Dawkins, etc .... well, there is villainous behavior that has gone on and is going on. Why not talk about it. I think everyone does the best they can in life... but that DOESNT mean I'm not going to call out BS when I see it. I put my ideas out strait and as clearly as I can... I can't say that for you, you clearly have an axe to grind against evolution. As I've tried to say over the years agaisnt those who use evolution to attack religion. And I've named them.
