I remember that film from the 80s. The camera work and animal acting is fantastic, but probably not representative of reality. Our biologist said that a male bear would be more likely to eat a youngster than come to his aid, and that's probably true. A mother bear would defend her young, however. Maybe that's how they did it.

Once I was walking through some thick woods and heard squalling that sounded just like a baby. I went towards it until I got quite close and could see it was a baby bear.

Then I got the hell out of there.

Oh, gosh, SS....I felt like the little bear was one of my cubs....His little bleating was so scared....the cat must have been really hungry to go into the water like that. The momma bear came just in time. Wonder how the camera person happened to be there to take such good pictures...

Found out this was scene from the movie "The Bear." I barely remember seeing it years ago.
