burke, I'm up 100's of points on my longs...
what you done lately..
make a didly put position that made a few points..
you missed out on a great ride up with dell and cpq up hundreds of points.

You focus on perecntages too much.
we sold 20 mm pcs in one qtr and that's with japan in a techno depression and not able to buy anything bec. they cannot make money in
mfg'ing.
All this supply in pc mfg'ing will play out soon.
the lower teir is being slaughtered by dell and cpq and even hp is coming back.
IBM is inert..you can't kill them with a bombs.
But, I ain't stupid, I do have puts to protect my long positions.
although I sold some a few minutes ago..I want something out of this downturn.

By, the way I predicted 18% in 4th qtr,,,,guess what, they are predicting 18% in 4q now. I also said that the great numbers would make the percentages meaningless. cpq only made 27.% gross margins.
when we started this discussion cpq's margins were 23+% and you said they would crash...looks like they went the other way.
You also said cpq was heading to 10 and it went to 180 instead...
You said the japanese would drive cpq out of business with their low cost...looks like cpq drove japanese and lower tier out of business with their low cost.

But, doesn't stop currency issues in fareast..they need to resolve that before I close out all my puts.

BY THE WAY, WE WOULD HAVE 20% GROWTH THIS QTR IF THE JAPANESE YOU KEEP BRAGGING ON COULD GET IT TOGETHER... THEY ARE PULLING DOWN ALL THE NUMBERS. THE USA HAD 20% PC GROWTH....

MB, Netframe servers (who MUEI bought) are much better than Dell or CPQ- at least thats my understanding. They couldn't sell any to save their life, though, but maybe with MUEI backing them they'll do something. Lets not forget that Gateway has the cow marketing gimmick, which throws your marketing argument against GTW for a loop- who's to say when cows are going to become the next big thing? Personally I've always had a thing for cows, but probably shouldn't go into details because I'm not posting under a pseudonym. Also, MUEI has a million possibilities to cross market their PC's with tubers. If you've ever seen a clock that runs off of a potato, you'll start seeing the infinite possibilities that exist for this scrapper from Idaho. Potato power never got the respect it deserves, imo.
