those weren't "negatives" about religion... they were simple historical, informative posts

From what I see, the Catholic church did little to oppose science. Galileo seems the only real example and thus w/b an anomaly. I'd be happy to change my opinion if I became aware of evidence to the contrary

I'm not a Catholic and have no bias to defend that particular church. It does have burned heretics on its record, fostered wars, tortured accused heretics, etc etc ... and in our own day has allowed its priesthood to be infiltrated by pedophiles. However, it just doesn't seem right to malign it for things it isn't guilty of.
