I'm 39, but I've read about the global cooling predictions. I take your point.

The difference, in my understanding, is that global cooling never had the backing or studies that GW does. It was media-fueled short-term blip that was backed by just a few publicity-seeking scientists and didn't have the wealth of data as GW does. At no time were there multi-year studies such as from the IPCG for example. The two aren't commensurate.

But I agree with you on one thing: the GW crowd has fully the burden of proof. So all in all, I think it's good that arrows get slung its way. If it's true then it will survive. And if not, disproving it will save us a lot of money. So keep at it ;}

My only point was that it's the scientific consensus, not a fringe thing. It could be wrong however. That it is always possible.
