I believe no matter what age they determine he is, he will be tried as an adult. Just like they do with underage citizens who commit heinous crimes.

Now proof of age may have to be found before any American's taken hostage by these islamic terrorists can be rescued.

Exactly, and the Right has warned of this forever in regard to terrorism prosecutions. This could be the future of terrorism prosecutions in the US -- because they're opting to treat them as criminals.
