It is the theory most widely taught in universities.<< actual history trumps the ivory tower. there has not been a single sustainable bubble in the history of the planet - they *all* end badly and the bust is typically inversely proportional to the boom. too bad they don't teach that you need to avoid the bubble in order to avoid the bust in so many of our universities. >>So I guess only you have the "right answer".<< yes, but it isn't original to myself. "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" or, stated a bit differently, "love others as yourself," is an eternal law and an absolute requirement for sustained peace and prosperity among sentient being. in other words, the answer is that there is no answer as long as humans treat others as less than themselves. >>I admit, a minority view like yours, even if correct, does have trouble finding an audiance in a democracy; and that is a flaw.<< one flaw amongst many. what makes you think this country is more democracy than fascist (corporate controlled - especially by the financial and the military industrial oligarchs)? 99% of the people can oppose a bailout of the oligarchs, but the oligarchs get their bailout and 20x more. did you also notice Obama's sleight of hand? "i'm going to end the war in iraq" has morphed into INCREASED forces for BOTH iraq and afghanistan. Obama is making the bushevics proud.
