True, and that may be the only thing that saves the situation.

OTOH, I've wondered whether the Israeli public emphasis on air power is actually a feint. There could be other ways to attack (submarines, ballistic missiles etc). Or they could tell the US they're transiting Iraq whether we give permission or not, with the premise that we wouldn't dare attack their planes.
