With a lot of fear and caution. Currently I am using index shorts and puts. If this turns into a real bear than I am going after the junk - and there is plenty of it out there. You know Internet hype junk with no earnings and bogus balance sheets - too easy to organize a short squeeze at this time. Next I will target some of the exposed banks. Beyond this I don't know for sure. Bargains, if this is just a correction. If the fed keeps pumping beyond real growth rates I might take another look at gold or high end foreign bonds.

Joseph G at one point was looking for 800 as a bottom. Maybe we could split the difference between 800 and 4000. That would make 2400. I can seriously imagine that happening. But I would already be going long beginning about 4000.

But let's not enumerate our poultry before they come home to roost.
