not with human nature, no. human nature is self centered and greedy. vain, too, so we convince ourselves we are self centered and greedy. ;-)

government *has* to be run like that for it to be successful over the long term, otherwise, it will eventually enslave the people or be over thrown. look throughout human history.

just to give you a glimpse of what that would look like, though, congress would do what is in the best interest of the nation, not what their campaign contributors want them to do. a specific example is mickey mouse. he would be in the public domain instead of having disney buy off legislatures to increase copyright length for effective eternity. a bubble would not have been created and a bust wouldn't have to follow (the bust is a natural consequence of a bubble, just as a hangover is the natural consequence of drinking too much alcohol).

but it won't happen as government is for friends and family and those that pay well are let into the family.
