50k is for in-state tuition, paying part of the way yourself (or your parents).

I'm not saying their hasn't been a value on a degree. I am saying the cost is going up while the value is coming down, though. e.g. 15.9% unemployment and rising, wholesale export of jobs.

Education is very good, I believe. It just costs too damn much. And the Universities hardly have a monopoly on learning. Nor providing a platform for social experimentation.

But for some things, a rigorous structure is mandatory for proficiency. I've a friend who had brain surgery yesterday. I personally would not want somebody doing that to me without full credentials *and* real world results.
