A Democratic strategist close to the White House said: “The president looked resolute, and like he had threaded the needle perfectly on the substance: The heat from the right was preposterous, and the heat from the left was manageable. But now they look like the scarecrow, pointing in both directions. They got the policy right, but they look confused and beaten down by critics."

ROFL! What do they do, mainline the koolaid for these Obamatons every day? They do look like scarecrows, though.

I don't understand what this means:

The president, who has said he wants to focus on the future rather than litigate the past, also opened himself to distraction and attack by retracting the earlier assurance by top officials that they had no plans to prosecute lawyers for former President George W. Bush who approved the “enhanced interrogation” program.

Does the Democratic strategist think that they got the policy right before Tuesday or after Tuesday? If, as it seems, he's referring to the new post-Tuesday policy, how can the pre-Tuesday 'resolute needle-threading' have been good? Does he mean it looked good through it had the policy wrong? What good is that?

The irony is.............Americans are really curious about what his in those memos and want to know. Cheney is challenging the govt to reveal its secrets and understands doing so will destroy its ability to defend the nation.

He's excited the base...........almost as much as the tea parties last week excited the base.......and is trying to corner "The One."

Pulling Wings Off Flies: I hope we don't have to listen about people wanting to pull the wings off of flies for 4 years. Glenn, good to see you are still here, have to read your geocities posts, sounds intriguing.

P.S. No one wants to take out the Taliban and Al Q'aida Leadership, instead we will be in one of those Orwellian "Oceania has always been at War with Eastasia". But let's forget about pulling the wings off of Flies, I can do without the Flies and without anyone taking some perverse glee in pulling their wings off, or talking about those naughty boys that did. I agree with your post Glenn, right on.

How can Obama or any of his henchmen even doubt that coercive techniques yield desired outcomes and valuable information?

For crying out loud, all that Soros and Moveon.org have to do is whine to Obama and he jumps to release so-called torture memos, then does a side step and reverses himself on prosecutions.

The next thing you know, whining will be considered torture and we'll have to indict every Democrat we see<g>
