falls under the category of "religious folks have been cruel" - in that the God they worship is cruel himself.

First, that people have credited God with cruel acts is not much of an argument that God doesn't exist. Second, even if you could convince the whole world God is indeed cruel, that would still not be an argument that God doesn't exist.
