Re: US and other western democracies, that democracy is only as strong as the economy is robust and perceived as generally fair. US in trouble now on both fronts so the crazies are out there on both wings, more vociferously on the right as the left crazies sort of neutered by Obama presidency.

I think its a mistake to paint the left crazies with the same brush as the right extremists. Right extremists tend to be much more violent and deadly.
