”What does the term "god fearing" mean ?” The idea that something of value may be lost is at the root of the human emotion we call fear. Fear of God, then, is rooted in the idea that those things attached to our soul that are of God could be lost. Things such as, as love, compassion, mercy, joy, peace, hope, justice, faith etc are lost by a the loss of a connection with God. People of genuine faith, then, should have nothing (in creation) to fear but that separation.
