Lots of blood on the street today.

I'd been using the lull over the last couple of weeks to flesh out positions in some of the underperforming companies that seemed to be fundamentally solid yet cheap -- NPP was one. Evidently I was a bit early to pull the trigger.

With the benefit of hindsight this correction will probably come to be seen as a positive thing. Valuations have been getting generous, and investors complacent. In the meantime, I'll keep my head down and look for bargains.

Kerm, it's pretty obvious how you spent your weekend. That's a very impressive body of work you posted at the Korner. You are providing people here on SI with an amazing service. Thank you.

All/SEPAC Investment Symposium

I attended the SEPAC (Small Explorers and Producers Association of Canada) Symposium that was held in Calgary yesterday. Presentations were made by about 20 small companies. Presentations were held in three rooms so it was not possible to see them all but I saw a couple and picked up the brochure, which included a page from each presenter and packages from most of the companies. The companies giving presentations are shown at:

db.nucleus.com

If anyone is interested in any of the companies I will try and pass on whatever latest info I picked up.

Mike
