I think your phrase "Bananna Republic" is right on target. The only good news is at least Ken Lewis stayed, and did not let himself be replaced by Hank Paulson's frat brother. Getting shot by an armed robber doesn't stop the robbery. Ken Lewis will need to stick around to make sure that the Treasury keeps their word to provide captial to replace the Merill Lynch losses. I expect the government will try to get him to leave B of A before the Treasury compensates B of A for all the losses.
