I would add the Rosenbergs as well. John Wilkes Booth, William Ayres, everyone in the Nyack killings etc etc

My original list included McNamara and Rumsfeld.

All were so egotistical that they thought they could break the rules of democracy for what they thought were the right reasons. Great men - like Washington - realize that the concept and ideals of democracy are larger than any one man. Therefore, even if they are convinced they are right, they realize that must preserve the Constitution and its ideals.
