Exco’s resources grows to 51.0Mt

Exco Resources Ltd. (ASX: EXS), Australian focused ASX-listed mining company with a dual focus on developing both the White Dam Gold Project in South Australia, and the Cloncurry Copper Project (CCP) in north-west Queensland announced that the resource total at its CCP has grown to 51.0Mt @0.84% Cu and 0.23 g/t Au.

Exco’s total NW Queensland resource base now contains more than 500,000t of copper while Cloncurry Copper Project (CCP) resources now total 51.0Mt @ 0.84% Cu & 0.23 g/t Au. The combined deposits of the E1 Camp (North, South, East & Central) now contain 343,000t of Cu and 312,000 oz of Au.

In a release, Exco said 50% of the contained copper in the CCP is now within Indicated resources, with ongoing resource modelling expected to lead to further increases and that work continues on the CCP Definitive Feasibility Study programme with submission of an Environmental Impact Statement expected during the current calendar quarter

Drilling success in the recently discovered Central Zone has led to a significant increase in total resources at E1, whilst detailed geological logging and modelling now shows that the deposits are geologically very similar and are linked through the geological and structural controls on the mineralization.

The current CCP Pre-Feasibility Study has initiated the establishment of a =2Mtpa concentrator facility at the E1 Camp.

Increases in resource and contained metal inventories from the E1Camp support EXS focus on a slightly larger operation treating 2.5 to 3Mtpa over a 10-year project life. At this expanded throughput the project will produce approximately 25,000 tonnes of copper per annum; 25% more than envisaged by the PFS.

The stock price of EXS gained 82.93% in preceding 30 days, and touched a 52-week high of 0.18 and 52-week low of 0.08 respectively.
