A trained psychologist with military interrogation skills, and she chose death over using the Bush administration's interrogation methods on another human being. Do you think maybe she might just have had some problems going in? Maybe just a tad? War is tough. Sometimes people get involved who really don't have the stomach for it. They definitely should do some more rigorous psychological testing on people who join the military.
