"if no smoking terror gun."

You could be arrested for violating the bans on smoking in a government facility, if you are caught smoking in a US torture chamber these days ... Bogart must be rolling over with laughter.

Lets not let our guard down again so we never have to torture to find out organizational details.

You mean like keep listening to foreign calls to/from suspected terrorists - the program the NYT attacked, that Obama attacked till he became Pres anyway?

Defense and intelligence shouldn't be partisan issues. They weren't when Pelosi and etc were briefed back in 2002 and 2003 when these harsh methods were being used. But they are now.

In the future, we'll not even talk to captured terrorists in a loud voice. Might be psychological threatening. Instead as the Obama adm has said, we'll use rendition .... send them to Egypt or Jordan or Pakistan or somewhere else they'll hook up batteries to their balls and make 'em sing. But our hands will be clean and we won't "know" they're being tortured.

>> we dont do torture

Not everyone agrees there was torture. But let's assume there was torture involved.

We now know that hundreds, if not thousands, of American lives were saved by waterboarding KSM and two other detainees.

If you had a do-over and it was your decision, would you forego the waterboarding KNOWING that hundreds or thousands of innocent Americans would lose their lives as a result of your decision?

A simple yes or no will suffice. Would you sacrifice 100s or 1000s of American lives so as to avoid waterboarding KSM?

Listening to obama is torture. Can we lock him up now, or do we have to wait until the next administration ?
