We didn't continue waterboarding after 2003.

What was done in 02 when we were desparate, scared and vulnerable is one thing---what we did in continuing it, codifying it and justifying it is something quite different.

“For all the debate over waterboarding, it has been used on only three al Qaeda figures, according to current and former U.S. intelligence officials. As ABC News first reported in September, waterboarding has not been used since 2003 and has been specifically prohibited since Gen. Michael Hayden took over as CIA director.

Officials told ABC News on Sept. 14 that the controversial interrogation technique, in which a suspect has water poured over his mouth and nose to stimulate a drowning reflex as shown in the above demonstration, had been banned by the CIA director at the recommendation of his deputy, Steve Kappes.”

Were you in NY on 911 and if so would you have said on 912 do whatever you have to to keep this from happening again in the US? How about in 2002 or 2003? You wouldn't say it now, but when did it change? And did your mind change cause whatever we were doing worked? So now lets punish the guys who made it possible for us to not worry about terror attacks anymore?

Waterboarding 3 guys in 2002 and 2003 doesn't sound all that over the top to me. If we'd gone whole hog Gestapo, wouldn't we have done a bunch more than waterboard ... like use hot pokers and car batteries, etc?

What is going on is a political witchhunt which is bad for the country.
