This seems to be as clear a case of unilateral decisions regarding "what the law is" by the Executive Branch as Watergate. Maybe we just consider ourselves lucky that there was no "October surprise" that led to martial law and suspension of elections. I'm a little surprised about the lack of outrage.

Cheney seems like the proverbial junk yard dog - he can't bite us but he still likes to scare people from the other side of the fence with his periodic barking... Personally, I'd like to see him facing a congressional inquiry and see his nasty sneer all over the TV, but politically I don't see it happening. Most people would find it way too divisive. Perhaps just waving all the dirty laundry around for a while is the best that the powers that be feel they can do and still stay on track with their agenda.

All the scapegoats should be pardoned. Most are "guilty" of much lesser offenses than what was officially sanctioned by Bush/Cheney.
