The professional deniers have taken a page from the tobacco companies' book, who swore to Congress that they didn't believe tobacco posed a health risk decades after their own scientists had concluded that it did. Although I still occasionally argue with them, it is basically absurd to do so. A bad habit that I usually try not to waste too much time doing, although I do think that there are still SI people who sincerely believe that atmospheric CO2 has no or little effect on climate. I've pointed to things for them to read; if they read them, fine. If not, so be it. The SI audience isn't going to change the world one way or the other.
