The professional deniers have taken a page from the tobacco companies' book, who swore to Congress that they didn't believe tobacco posed a health risk decades after their own scientists had concluded that it did.

Although I still occasionally argue with them, it is basically absurd to do so. A bad habit that I usually try not to waste too much time doing, although I do think that there are still SI people who sincerely believe that atmospheric CO2 has no or little effect on climate. I've pointed to things for them to read; if they read them, fine. If not, so be it. The SI audience isn't going to change the world one way or the other.

BP and Shell too. These companies have given into pressure. It means nothing scientifically. Browbeating is not a scientific procedure.
